Independent Land Rover Dealer

As a specialist Landrover parts supplier, we are passionate and dedicated about Land Rover vehicles and their spare parts. We make it our business to know and understand what parts are commonly needed for Land Rover vehicles in service under New Zealand conditions. We aim to stock the common service and maintenance items for Defender, Discovery, Freelander and Range Rover for immediate supply to our customers. We even carry a great range for older Land Rovers such as Series I, II, III, however Series 1 parts are becoming increasingly scarce!

Forward Specs Land Rover Parts benefits by being fully independent of the New Zealand Land Rover dealerships which tend to stock only “fast moving” items for “current” models and order other parts from either local warehouse or the UK. We acquire our parts from a number of reputable sources and aim to have the part in stock ready for delivery to our customer. We can buy OEM and quality replacement parts as well as genuine.

Our primary customers are repair workshops servicing vehicles on behalf of their customers. We also supply Land Rover owners who are enthusiasts, farmers, or trades people who maintain or are restoring their own landrover's.

Family owned and operated

In 2004 Forward Specs was purchased by the Alexander family and is now run by Bill Alexander – agricultural engineer. Bill's career has included development of storage and transportation technology for horticultural industry, and prior to purchasing Forward Specs, Bill was involved in projects with major shipping companies in various parts of world, and was part of the senior management team for a “small” company in California.

He is also a long time classic British car enthusiast. He says, “when I saw this business I saw the opportunity to pull together two strands of my life into a new and exciting career. The Land Rover is very much a part of agriculture, it was spawned from an agricultural need, and pretty much everywhere in the world it has been central to agricultural and commercial development. It is also pretty much the definition of ‘classic British vehicle’”.  He goes on, “as an engineer I have an appreciation for the technology used by Land Rover, it is not over sophisticated. Throughout the range the technology applied is what we could refer to a ‘appropriate technology’, in other words the technology used is appropriate to the purpose (I am referring mainly to the Series and Defender models but to some degree it is true for the later vehicles as well)”.

Our Staff have specialised knowledge in Land Rover's and the way they tick. Through specialising in just one brand and working with our customers to meet their needs our staff have developed an extremely detailed knowledge and understanding of the product.  

Whilst we are here to sell parts our first priority is to ensure the best result for our customer. We will always take time to carefully identify the exact needs the customer has and we will try to ensure they get the right part first time.
